April Fools’ Day 2019 has begun early in Guild Wars 2, Champions Online, and more

Happy April Fools’ Day! Oh, wait, that’s not how it works? And it’s not actually April Fools’ Day yet? Well, tell that to Gaijin and Wargaming and PWE and ArenaNet, as all of these companies have launched April Fools’ Day events today.

Guild Wars 2’s, of course, is Super Adventure Box, which went live earlier today and will occupy my older child for the next few weeks. (I think I have all the skins I want and both of the boomboxes, so we’ll see if there’s anything I need to farm for!)

Space Games come to World of Warships; players will be taking their sci-fi boats out for multiple game modes, including Space Assault, Rings of Saturn, Binary Star, and Torpedo Beat. Honestly, this doesn’t even seem funny; it’s just awesome. I kind of want to play this for real.

Crossout’s dropped a “Dude, Where’d You Get The Car?” mode.

“At the start of the Brawl, each participant will be randomly assigned one of 59 different vehicles selected by the Crossout developers, all of which were crafted by the players and uploaded to the game’s ‘Exhibition’. Available vehicles range from giant, rocket-armed crabs and crazily oversized lawn mowers to fire-breathing ducks, jet-powered, pink elephants and even more extraordinary creations. But despite their funny appearance, all of these vehicles are absolutely deadly in combat. Players have only seconds to familiarize themselves with whatever vehicle they’ve been assigned before 8 of them will clash with each other in a ruthless, chaotic battle.”

War Thunder is clearly up to something too.

Finally, there’s Champions Online, which has re-released FoxbatCon today.

“Don’t take yourself seriously – put on some Googly Eyes and a Beanie Hat. Win at gambling and costume contests with the Falling Cards and Spinning Cards Auras! And get your freak on wiuth the Juggle and Twister Dance emotes! But that’s not all, there are ten action figures hidden throughout this event, and you can get them by performing secret tasks! What are they? We don’t know! They’re secret! And, finally, everyone who logs in will get the Eye Roll Emote for free!”

We’re sure we’ll see more before April 1st actually arrives. Feel free to put a shout out in the comments if you spot another event dropping early!
