It’s happening: Star Citizen’s next iteration, alpha 3.5.1, has rolled out to the PTU. Of course, as usual, this is for the early waves of testers – concierge levels, subbers, and random invitees. Included in this version of the patch is the new Origin 2949 300 series ship “alongside manufacturer-level ship customization and complimentary test-flights” – that’d be the ship customization detailed last week.
“When test-pledging for a new ship with customization options available, there will be an additional button on the test-pledge store page to allow a player to apply their personal touches immediately after completing the test-pledge. If you already own a customize-able ship, there will be a customize button on the test-pledge when viewed in the My Hangar interface. For this initial rollout, you will be able to customize the 300 series hull color, cockpit finish, yoke, seat (model, material, and finish), bedding, decorations/flair, and select from various component packages (powerplant, cooler, weapons, etc).”
There are already videos up deep-diving the customization system.
It’s not cheap – one image passed along to us by of MOP reader and streamer DK shows CIG selling decorative packages including plants, clocks, and even a coffee – sorry, kofi – machine.
And here’s a look at the inside of the custom Origin 325a courtesy of DK!
Want a little drama to go with the patch? It looks as if Crytek’s attorneys of record at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, & Flom have withdrawn from the Crytek v. Cloud Imperium lawsuit, having been replaced with the Davidson Law Group.
