Ever since teased at TennoCon 2018, players have been eagerly awaiting Warframe’s Operation: Railjack, now called Empyrean. What Space Ninja doesn’t want to adventure out in open space, flying their own multiplayer ships and boarding enemy ships? TennoCon 2019 highlighted that with a long chunk of live Empyrean gameplay on stage.
During the gameplay, fans were treated to a close look at a customizable railjack battleship as it flies into a space battle, along with some accompanying new features. The fight moves from ship to space to ship as combatants boarded and took control of the enemy battleship. As the battle progressed, players got a taste of two other key features of this update — the Kingpin (VIP) system and the squad-link system. The former is a personal nemesis in game your actions create. The latter is Warframe’s answer to raiding, allowing a railjack to call on friends to aid by completing an objective elsewhere in the universe that directly impacts the railjack’s mission in real time.
And that’s just scratching the surface. Check back with us for a deeper look into these systems as our TennoCon coverage continues.
