Finally got to listen to the episode during my walk today. Really good podcast, specifically on the WoW stuff. Eliot’s been really on the mark on WoW in recent articles as well. Also, nice one on the Mash song, you had me humming and singing the lyrics off on the rest of the afternoon. Lol
No obligatory link to suicide prevention hotline for MASH Suicide is Painless theme song reference…?
Thanks to Eliot for EVE Online ship archer class reference- very insightful. There are battle cruisers that can mount long-range, “archer-like” weapons that also have glass cannon armor/shields.
EVE also features long-range, sentry drones that are equivalent to pets, very good for killing at a distance with little risk to the owner. A Scottish friend remarked that my penchant for using these was “very American”. Touche.
Really fun episode- thanks!
Oh great, now I know that little fact about Mash and have got the vocal version stuck in my head. The vocals make it even more of an ear worm for me.

And hey Justin, I got a fair amount of enjoyment out of WoW’s BfA as well. It really comes down to if I’m having fun or not, as I imagine similarly for you.
It brings to mind how I enjoy your little blog pieces about your experiences in gaming that you share on Twitter, including what you’re up to in WoW.

That question about doing quest content that doesn’t jive with you reminds me of much of the Horde experience during BfA. It definitely made me take a mental step back and be less immersed.
There are ways to handle more serious, dark topics in fiction, and I don’t feel like that was it.
Ragnarok Online did Archer Bards before FFXIV. =) Just sayin. Haha.
Awesome Elliot!!!!!! Love his analysis of thing, always fun to her his rants!!!!
i LOVE THAT YOU GUYS KNOW THE MASH THEME HAS LYRICS!!!!! SHOWS THAT MASH ISNT DEAD!!!!
Age of Conan is a clear example of an awesome newbie zone… but since it was not relevant, if felt like a bait and switch.
Agreed. Age of Conan’s start area has long been my favorite mmorpg start area. (sigh) Too bad the rest of the game didn’t maintain that standard.
Eliots on! Time for the drinking game! 👍😜😀🏁🏍
