The time has come for Final Fantasy XIV players to start collecting time-limited tomes once again with the most recent patch, which adds Allagan Tomestones of Heliometry to the mix. As is no doubt expected, players can earn up to 450 per week and trade them in for more powerful gear, which goes hand-in-hand with the release of the new Savage raid tier. That’s on top of numerous new recipes and pieces of gear, new random treasure dungeons for Dawntrail treasure maps, and extensive job adjustments.
The goals behind the job adjustments are explained on the game’s job guide, but a number of the changes have been made with the overall goal of bringing jobs up to balance more effectively against Pictomancer (which is currently dealing more damage than intended). This also includes an extensive Viper rework which removes Noxious Gash altogether, as the developers decided its presence was overcomplicating the job’s skill rotation; this necessitated numerous damage increases, but the positional requirements for the job have been retained based on player feedback.
