It’s only a couple of weeks until Gamescom 2024 kicks off, and Final Fantasy XIV is getting quite a presence there. Obviously it will not be a preview of what’s coming in Dawntrail because the expansion is already out, but it will include a trial battle against Valigarmanda as well as a chance to play alongside producer and director Naoki Yoshida as well as German localization lead Pamela Drobig. Drobig also has a whole panel about how localization works as well as sharing some details about Dawntrail in particular.

There’s also a German fan gathering happening on Thursday, August 22nd, with space for 500 attendees and tickets sold one-per-person. If you’re going to be in Germany, you may well want to go; the team is available that people want to attend these gatherings and is hoping to offer more opportunities in the future, but this is the first one. So it’s going to be several days of winged serpents, panels, and signing opportunities for people in Cologne, and anyone who wishes to be there without a ticket will just have to look on with envy.
