Destiny 2 maps out updates to raids and dungeons arriving with its Codename Frontiers releases

The top of September saw Destiny 2 outline its broad strokes plan for content over the next two years, couching the whole thing under the Codename: Frontiers banner; in short it’s a roadmap that promises two medium-sized expansions and four major free updates, with Bungie promising more details through dev blogs in the coming months.

The studio has now put out its latest such blog post, which goes over release timing and feature details for raids and dungeons. Most of what’s new will arrive in Codename: Apollo, which will bring another new raid that hopes to clear the high bar set by the Salvation’s Edge encounter, as well as later updates that add the ability for players to apply challenge modifiers called feats and introduce more challenging updates and feats to the raid.

As for those who would rather play dungeons, a new one will come with Codename: Behemoth, which will not require a dungeon key purchase to access this time around. In addition, existing dungeons will feature prominently in the activity portal that’s coming to the game, with updates and full challenge customization available. Finally, a new raid event will arrive in the fourth major update of 2025, primarily because players responded well to the boss rush mode that was added in May.

On the subject of dungeons, the FPS’s weekly newsletter talks up the Vesper’s Host dungeon and subsequent world first race arriving in October 11th, as well as a wide assortment of PvP updates coming with October 8th’s Revenant episode including a reprise of the Solitude map, UI updates, changes to the mercy rule, lobby balancing, and multiple updates to the Trials of Osiris. There’s a whole lot to soak up (including charts and graphs) so the Guardian that prefers shooting other Guardians will likely want to read up all of the specifics.
