One Shots: The crackle and pop of a homestead hearth

No matter how long the road, how great the challenges, or how tempting the loot, at the end of the day we simply want to return to a peaceful sanctuary that we call “home.” Even if, as is occasionally the case, that home is a relatively new situation.

“I finally got around to playing Throne and Liberty,” said Greaterdivinity. “Still forming an opinion on the game overall, but if nothing else, the little Amitoi House you get access to pretty early on is extremely cozy as hell and I love it.”

We’ve got two takers for last week’s underwater screenshot challenge, and unsurprisingly, both are from Guild Wars 2!

We’ll start with r00ch’s, who says, “I’ll try the challenge even though I only have a few underwater pics from GW2. And unlike New World, where players will soon discover they can swim instead of walking upright until fully submerged, GW2 lets you scuba around right from the start.”

Then Katriana surfaced into an interesting locale: “Here’s a shot of a little cave in Janthir Syntri.”

It would be very embarrassing if you came up out of the water to discover that this was the living room of a grumpy hydra looking for some peace and quiet while crocheting a sweater for her cat. Fortunately, this was not the case.

IronSalamander8 takes us — where else? — to the quirky realm of Garden Warfare 2: “This is in the pirate’s ship where you can do missions for him. I love the stained glass windows and that shark in the wall is actually part of the quest chain.”

And William hand-crafted a locale that should be the starting area of all good adventures: “I know it’s not an MMO but I’ve been fiddling with Tiny Glade so much as of late – really helps flesh out a D&D village.”

Let’s get cranking out even more screenshot adventures in the comments! Need an optional screenshot challenge? Share a picture of an MMO location that isn’t specifically for a Halloween event but would fit in perfectly with that spooky holiday!

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
