It’s time once again for RuneScape players to return to the desert and head towards the finale of a quest line that’s been ongoing for 20 years: This week sees the launch of the Pharaoh’s Folly quest in the MMORPG, complete with a big tasty trailer for the new story’s arrival.

As we’ve been reporting, Pharaoh’s Folly picks up where the Beneath Scabaras’ Sands quest left off, taking players into a clash against Osman and his attempt to manufacture a crisis and thus make tighten his iron rule in the penultimate piece of the Return to the Desert story arc. The new quest is the primary piece of this week’s update; the patch notes otherwise apply a few granular fixes.

Meanwhile over in Old School RuneScape, Jagex is taking a moment to discuss the results of its recent open alpha for the Sailing skill. Overall survey results show the skill is getting a more positive response from players after they’ve tested it out, while the studio talked about feedback points regarding sea charting rewards, XP rate confusion, port task QoL, and boat speed.

In terms of what’s next for the skill, players can expect more polling and dev blogs in the coming months, along with a Sailing beta test sometime in the future that promises to bring additional activities like ship combat and crew management.

As for this week’s OSRS patch, that applies a sizeable list of adjustments to the castle wars activity that were voted on by players in Poll 83, including buffs to healing bandages and castle wars brews, updates to portals, bigger benefits for bracelets, and a new rune pouch.
