Jack Emmert, CEO of Daybreak sub-studio Dimensional Ink, is geeking out over DC Universe Online’s upcoming Legion of Doom episode in December. His excitement for the episode and its story elements was shared in an interview with CBR, where he talks a bit about the update’s locations and its far-reaching narrative aspirations.

As most DC fans are aware, the Legion of Doom can be a pretty big deal, but the much larger threat is posed by Perpetua, who Emmert says represents a multiversal step for the game’s narrative. In fact, the danger posed by Perpetua and the Legion is so massive that it’s been confirmed that both hero and villain characters will be fighting together to stop it.

“At least for what our goals are, [it’s important] to bring everyone together as much as we possibly can. In this case, by presenting something that is so overwhelmingly dangerous to existence that it doesn’t matter whether you’re a hero or villain, either way, what’s coming is really bad.”

Emmert also provided a brief nod to the addition of the Washington D.C. location and especially the Hall of Justice, both of which players will get to visit in the new update. He also noted the later arrival of the Blue Beetle Community Style update, talking about his love for the character and its current mantle wearer Jamie Reyes. The interview is a bit short on gameplay reveals, but it is very long on Emmert gleefully nerding out over DC lore.
