The Day Before Steam keys go for three figures on the grey market as Fntastic announces server closures

WTS underwhelming zombie shooter, $250 OBO

We all thought that news from The Day Before was going to end too, but the whole sordid story of this zombie extraction shooter apparently has one more page to it, as Steam keys for the game are going for hundreds of dollars on the keyseller grey market.

According to tracking on GG.deals, Steam keys for the game that killed a whole studio have been resold by keyselling websites between $230 to $240 over the past week. As of right now, the lowest price available for a key is $233, though there are other sites that are asking for $427.

As we’ve mentioned before, our readers were already smart enough to avoid The Day Before even at its base early access price, but even so it should be pointed out that the game’s red flag-filled launch, which we’ve chronicled in the list below, does not command three figures, to say nothing about the fact that this is an online game and its servers can be shut down at any time. Still, this is the free market at work, right?

In related news, Fntastic has resurfaced one more time on Twitter to deny rumors that the studio changed its name to The Wild Eight. “We have not been affiliated with The Wild Eight for many years,” the studio states.

Update
Welp that didn’t take long. Now The Day Before studio Fntastic has announced it’s shutting the servers down too as of January 22nd. File it under “more stuff everyone with half a brain saw coming.”
