Daybreak found another 6000 $300 lifetime subs to sell, somehow

A week before Christmas, Daybreak announced that it was selling a $300 lifetime sub for its current stable of MMORPGs: a new version of the all access pass that granted free roam over EverQuest, EverQuest II, DC Universe Online, and PlanetSide 2, with plenty of goodies thrown in to boot. The catch – aside from the fact that its value depended on your faith in the company, which just revealed a contentious new battle royale game after laying off upwards of 70 staff from its Austin office – was that it was supposedly limited to 4000 people.

“I would put money on Daybreak’s extending this beyond 4000, absolutely no doubt in my mind,” I said last week, when the package was down to 2000 left and then 1000 left and then zero by Xmas itself. If you were likewise convinced that the 4000 number was smoke on the wind, then you too win the prize, as Daybreak has extended the deal. Now the company says there are 6000 available (bringing the total to 10000) and that the deal runs through the end of the year.

“This is not a drill! Lock in membership to your favorite games with the Lifetime* All Access Membership. Available for a limited time, this special offer grants lifetime membership benefits in every All Access game. All Access currently includes DC Universe Online, EverQuest, EverQuest 2, and PlanetSide 2. No more resubscribing. No more recurring payments. All the access. All the time. Plus, if you already have an active All Access membership, we will convert your unused time to Daybreak Cash when you upgrade to this offer! The Lifetime* All Access Membership is available on PC for $299.99 USD, now through December 31, 2018, while supplies last**. Get yours today! *For the life of the participating game(s). **Only 6000 Lifetime All Access Memberships are available.”

The special pass still does not include the PC or PS4 H1Z1 or the upcoming PlanetSide Arena, and it’s separate from the annual membership pass that is still $200 through the end of the year.

EQ: the game that would not die

I just hope that after they go bankrupt that the Planetside series lands in competent hands so we can have a great game made from it.

It always makes me laugh when companies try to say they only have a limited number available of a digital product. gtfo

Good Lord, please god put DBG out of its misery, have mercy on the Soul of Everquest and Planetside.

It’s a miracle!

That fine print, “*For the life of the participating game(s).” pretty much sums it all up and answers most questions rhetorically.

And even that becomes invalid if they sell… or just change the name of the company. If they just change the name from DayBreak to DayBroke, all existing contracts are null and void.

I honestly play enough Planetside 2 alone to make this worth it in the long run… I also still play DCUO, and dabble in the EQ .

Honestly the real story isnt that they made 10k available but that there are 10k customers willing to fork out $300. Who said EQ was dead? Wrong again.

not dead, just dying horribly. Hope they are happy those lifetime passes are going towards more esports failures.

Except this doesn’t prove that they have 10k customers willing to fork out 300. Only that they either had 6k, or they just pulled a marketing stunt and pretended that they had.

But none of DBG games are dead. They are, tho, dying horribly, while deserving better for their legacy.

There is zero proof that 10K were sold, or even the 4K. If they were serious, they would have had a huge countdown of sub’s available. DGC Lies about absolutely everything, why should this latest cash grab be any different?

Mia.

Were they under a couch or in the back of the breakroom fridge?

The icky feeling I have gotten from Daybreak from the start just gets ickier and ickier. I loved EQ so much, but maybe it should be allowed to die with dignity.

Holy SH*T. How the heck did they find another 6000 of that ultra rare sub’s? I mean how high was the chance to find 4000 at all and now they found another batch.

Be sure to get them while they are hot because it will be impossible to find/build/create new ones for daybreak, I’m sure as hell.
