Final Fantasy XIV is adding more player housing wards with patch 5.1

Hello, peoples.

If there’s one recurring complaint about housing in Final Fantasy XIV (and there is), it’s that there just aren’t enough houses to go around. The addition of three new wards for all districts in patch 5.1 is unlikely to fix this, precisely, but it will certainly help matters by adding 180 new plots of land to each ward for a grand total of 720 new spaces; that’s in addition to a fresh wave of apartments. The sales of new open-world plots will be restricted to free companies for a limited time.

For those of you who already have a house and feel no need to upgrade or are waiting on the hope of Ishgard housing following the restoration project, you’ll want to keep a closer eye on Friday, October 18th. That’s when the next live letter is taking place, with the promise of more patch features previewed including Ishgard restoration, the YoRHa raid, and no doubt further features as yet unrevealed. The letter starts at 7:00 a.m. EDT, so make sure you’re up early if you want to watch it live.
