Gloria Victis has entered the hallowed halls of beta! This might sound a little odd to you, as the game has been in testing for quite some time and made steady progress, but that was in early access alpha. This is early access beta. Very different. Look, we’re just happy when a game makes a point of marking these goalposts at this point.
Other beta news approaches steadily, as it does:
- Ashes of Creation has shared its testing plans for December and January.
- There’s a new time-limited open alpha for Soul’s Remnant, if you want in on the early alpha testing without buying in completely.
- Ship of Heroes appears to be targeting 2021 for release of some sort, although considering how long these projects take that might be early.
- Mortal Online 2 got useful data from its beta but failed to make any world recordas.
- Last but not least, feast your eyes on 30 minutes of gameplay from the upcoming Book of Travels.

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
