MMO guide maker Dulfy is OK but has stepped away from content creation

One of the big mysteries of 2020 was the abrupt disappearance of the prolific, beloved, and incredibly helpful MMO guide maker Dulfy. After years of pumping out step-by-step walkthroughs to games like Guild Wars 2, Elder Scrolls Online, and Star Wars: The Old Republic, Dulfy — the person and the site — went dark online, and fans became concerned.

At least you can mark this mystery as being solved, then, because one of her friends has delivered an update on her status. Essentially, Dulfy decided to step away from content creation for the time being, and her friends are investigating the possibility of picking up slack on the site, which has since returned to service.

“Will she be back? Maybe, she has left it open for possibility,” wrote Masterkiller. “She has opened a new chapter in her life and there isn’t as much time for gaming and content writing as she had before. If you know Dulfy, she doesn’t half-ass anything and I don’t know how comfortable she would be writing anything less than highest quality content.”

I’m glad she is doing good, best of luck to her. I still use her content for guild missions and old content when helping people returning to game and new people just starting game. Its very helpful 🤗💜💙

Glad she’s ok, she made tremendous contributions to the playability and enjoyment of several games.
I hope she’s wildly successful at whatever she puts her mind to.

She was my main go-to when I got stuck in an MMO – any MMO. It was always a joyful moment when a new MMO released and I found out she would be covering guides. I used to wonder how the heck she did it, keeping up content guides from all of those MMOs. It had to have been more than a full-time job.

When Dulfy disappeared, it was something I figured out right away, along with many other fans. Every now and then someone comes along that adds so much to whatever it is you might be doing and it’s like a vacuum when they’re gone. For the most part, disappearances in the virtual world are noticed by very few and memories tend to be short. Dulfy gulfed that chasm for what she gave.

Thanks for the update!

Dulfy disappeared in mid 2019, since she was the #1 SWTOR site, people kept asking about her and some of her collaborators confirmed she was doing fine but stepping away from the site because she had other obligations, this was all back in 2019.

Right, like we said, when her site disappeared in fall 2020, people got worried all over again, so getting some brand-new confirmation from her crew that she’s good and they’re thinking about taking up her torch is good. ;)

Her site made the difference between playing a game and enjoying a game. Wishing her the best of luck in her new endeavors and many thanks for all the years of help she gave so many.

I know I used to use her stuff all the time for gaming. The guides were top notch and great. It’s always sad when people move on from stuff like this but in the end sounds like she is doing something more important now.

It’s good to know that she is ok and pursuing other aspects of life. She was doing the best guides for Rift which is when I became aware of her work. Then SWTOR came out and she moved on to creating guides for that game.

Glad she’s OK. She is a good person in my experience chatting with her a couple of times and her guides were top notch.

Spent time in a guild with Dulfy. Dulfy has been an asset to the genre. Especially enjoyed the SWTOR era. Good to hear all is well.
