Other beta news? Sure! Less ambiguous beta news? Maybe!
- Star Citizen promising that it will add some anticipated features to its roadmap is still pretty ambiguous, for example. Our commenters had fun with that one. (You guys are fun.)
- The performance tweaks coming for Magic Legends? Also a bit ambiguous. Tweaks are good, but not knowing what they are? Ambiguous.
- The latest update for Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, though, seems almost downright concrete.
- And the upcoming Noah’s Heart is planning a beta in summer of 2021. That’s rather unambiguous! Maybe a bit ambitious, though.
In summary, vagueness is a land of contrasts. You can check out another land of contrasts in our list just below of games we know to be in testing, but if something is contrasting its testing status with something like an active cash shop, let us know so we can yeet that unambiguously off the list.
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
