It’s been years since the day when Gloria Victis first made its way into early access, and you can hardly be blamed if you were of the mind that it would spend forever in early access. But that is ending on February 7th, which is remarkably soon; the game is officially moving from early access into full launch after all! If you feel the urge to roast a suckling pig on a spit to celebrate the occasion, that seems thematically appropriate.
Other beta news that involves not quite so much launching after all:
- Shadow’s Kiss has moved into early access, and the reviews of the game in early access are… not great! People are not enthusiastic about the title so far. Sorry.
- Blue Protocol has delayed its Japanese network testing once again, which is far from a great sign for anyone hoping it would be out sooner rather than later.
- It’s the final pre-launch countdown for Throne and Liberty, and that means more testing. All the testing. So many tests you can’t even believe.
- Valheim has a pretty meaty update hitting the game. Reasonably meaty. There is not a dearth of meat.
- If you want to give RuneScape’s Jagex launcher a closed beta test, that’s available for testing now.
- Last but not least, The Day Before is delaying its test of a name issue… despite the fact that it seems to be doing a lot of things development-wise unrelated to the game’s name. Hmm.
With all that having been said, we do in fact have a list of games in testing just below for you! Yes, as we do every week. It is always possible that we missed an important shift in test phases, and if that happened we ask for your kindness to flag that in the comments down below. We’ll be your friend! (Cash value of our friendship: No greater than $0.10.)
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed, nor will games that are NFT/blockchain scams; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
