Elder Scrolls Online enchanted PC players, including MOP’s Chris, with Gold Road earlier this month, and now it’s angling to do the same for console players as the chapter officially launches today on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.

As readers will know, the core of this update is the new West Weald zone, a throwback to the original Elder Scrolls Oblivion, and the city of Skingrad, though there’s plenty of new-new as well, including Dawnwood, the new storyline, new quests, and new open-world content. The Scribing system is also a bit of a throwback; it “allows players to craft and customize their abilities using unique scripts to perfectly fit their playstyle and build.”

For players who don’t buy the Gold Road chapter, there’s the basegame Update 42 live today also: “In-game mail receives an overhaul focused on its interface and notifications, and [the studio] introduces the Adventure Across a Decade Achievement, celebrating ESO’s 10-Year Anniversary by granting the Fractured Glory skin for completing questlines spanning some of ESO’s most memorable adventures to date, including Gold Road.”
