There was a time not all that long ago when this question would’ve been inane since we had so few top-notch MMORPGs on console or mobile, but that isn’t the case in 2024. On the mobile side, we have plenty of games, from Albion Online to Tarisland. And on console, we have stalwarts like Final Fantasy XIV and Trove and DC Universe Online… and now New World and Throne & Liberty too.
I actually played a bit of New World on console this year, and while console is never going to be my main home, I certainly enjoyed my time there. Is it worth it to me to give up my monitors and chat and PC conveniences? No, but damn it was fun to sit on the couch to stumble around Aeternum anyway.
