It’s closed beta time for Albion, and if you’re a legendary founder, you can log in right now. Or not if you’d prefer to wait until the danger of character wipes has come and gone.
Albion revolves around PvP in the form of sieging, claiming, and defending terrority. There’s a player-driven economy, too, as well as the ability to customize your real estate and take part in classless progression. The devs are making no secret about their intended audience. “In an age where MMOs are increasingly casual in nature, Albion Online represents our vision of what a true modern MMORPG should be,” Sandbox Interactive CEO Stefan Wiezorek says via press release.
The cross-platform title is attempting to combine “the classic, challenging gameplay found in classics like Ultima Online, EVE Online, and RuneScape.”
