One Shots: Reading rainbow

Last week we asked readers to share their favorite color in the form of a screenshot. But why pick one color when WildStar had all of them in blindingly bright neon glory?

Utakata casts our minds back to a time when double-jumping and chatty taxi drivers were a thing in our MMOs. Well, now I’ve bummed myself out, and I’m not even to the first picture! This pic is a glorious reminder of how pretty WildStar was, indeed.

“I like pink in Final Fantasy XIV,” said Scott. “Maybe too much.”

Is that even possible? I like pink too. It’s a happy color and deserves our full support and love. Don’t be ashamed of your pink preferences people!

“Sometimes, online games can feel a little… prescient,” said Mysecretid. “The Division 2 appeared quite a while before the current viral pandemic started — or the more-recent pushback against long-standing institutionalized racial injustice ramped up — but some of the scenic details my character keeps discovering in the game feel like they could’ve been lifted from today’s headlines.”

I hate to tell the rest of MMOs, but if you’re missing colors, chances are that Square Enix has stolen them.

“Let me dig into my /gpose addiction,” posted Josh. “With the right filters sunlight in FFXIV be absolutely golden.”

And while Hurbster isn’t loving Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor as much as hoped, at least it’s generating some cool screenshots like this below picture of the northern lights and one exuberant statue.

Quick! Before the authorities find my secret lair, I need to get you your screenshot challenge of the week. In honor of Hurbster up there, let’s take some pictures of iconic and interesting statues in MMOs and share them with the crowd!

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
