The Star Wars universe has lost another of its icons: David Prowse, the British actor who filled the very large shoes (though not the voice) of Darth Vader in the original film trilogy. He was 85.
The news brought forth players in multiple Star Wars MMOs to pay tribute to the actor. On SWG Legends, one of the largest Star Wars Galaxies rogue servers, there are multiple memorials to key Star Wars figures, including Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, and Carrie Fisher, the last of whom sees a fresh memorial every December and breaks my heart all over again. Prowse’s memorial now joins theirs; his is situated in Narmle on Rori, one of the moons of Naboo.
And in Star Wars: The Old Republic players held a silent vigil-turned-life-celebration on on Drummond Kaas on the Darth Malgus server yesterday. YouTuber Dark Jedi Order posted footage from the event for those who couldn’t attend in person.
RIP, Vader.
The beautiful thing about #StarWarsGalaxies is that nobody is truly ever gone. Iconic actors, or community members. Everyone is a part of the history of our home galaxy. Pay tribute to the life of David Prowse by visiting > Rori, Narmle. (/Waypoint -5293 -2228)#SWGLegends pic.twitter.com/m6SxPtSlbQ
