Global Chat: What’s the best Wrath of the Lich King zone?

With Wrath Classic starting to wrap up, The Ancient Gaming Noob figured that this was the perfect time to rank the famous expansion’s zones. So what came out on top?

“It is also a zone that 100% requires you to have flying and yet makes you feel like you’re getting away with something by having flying.  I am not sure how that works, but it always makes me feel like I am winning harder than I should.”

The Last Chapter Gaming Blog looked back over personal adventures in 2023: “The Classic eras of World of Warcraft, particularly the Wrath of the Lich King version, dominated my gaming year. The picture above is my Wrath Paladin Merrie, wishing you a happy holiday.”

Priest With a Cause also reviewed time spent in WoW Classic this year: “That bit of stability has honestly been kind of nice, though it also makes me wonder what’s in store for next year. I love Classic era for what it is and I do like my guild, but at this point, I also feel ready for something a bit different again.”

This Week in Aurebesh became obsessed with a pair of SWTOR posters: “Within the context of the game world, two explanations spring to mind. Perhaps the Hidden Chain sliced into the Fleets’ advertising systems to illicitly include their own propaganda as a form of digital graffiti.”

Going Commando has been blogging about SWTOR for 12 years: “It hit me recently that twelve years of doing this means that I’ve been maintaining this blog for about a third of my life, or half of my adult life. That’s pretty huge!”

Virtual Bastion shared a list of relaxing nature games: “All Animal Crossing games are relaxing. But only New Horizons lets you decorate your own island. There’s just something special about manicuring and perfecting your island and then getting to enjoy it with your animal buddies.”

Chasing Dings took an early look at Pantheon: “Where Monsters & Memories is really trying to duplicate that 1999 aesthetic — and nailing it, even in their early state — Visionary Realms is looking more to EverQuest’s spiritual successor Vanguard for inspiration. I also see a bit of Dragon’s Dogma in the game.”

Every day there are tons of terrific, insightful, and unusual articles posted across the MMO gaming blogosphere — and every day, Justin reads as many as he can. Global Chat is a sampling of noteworthy essays, rants, and guides from the past few weeks of MMO discourse.
