Jagex’s new co-op survival game RuneScape Dragonwilds just hit early access

And just like that, RuneScape Dragonwilds hit early access! It turns out when Jagex said early access was coming this spring, it meant right now, and we doubt anyone’s gonna be too mad about it, as long as you have the $29.99 to spare.

“Surprise… yeah, we just did that,” Jagex tweeted. “Dragonwilds is available RIGHT NOW!”

Readers will recall that Dragonwilds is an “open-world survival adventure game,” not an MMORPG; it’s a spin-off of RuneScape with all the co-op survival genre trappings. The studio announced it just over two weeks ago.

So what’s in the currently playable version?

“[T]he Early Access version of the game contains the first few regions, survival systems, RuneScape Skills as well as magic survival spells, gear to craft, a robust building system, challenging combat, dungeons to delve, the first Dragon (the terrifying General Velgar!), creating a blend of Survival and RuneScape. This is just the beginning, with more content, features, skills, and expansions to the map planned throughout Early Access!”

And we’re expecting that early access to run until at least early 2026.
