The Daily Grind: What’s the best desert biome in MMOs?

Until I lived in one for a few years in real life, I was not a big fan of the desert – anywhere. Cue lamentations about sand, right? Over time, I became a desert creature; give me low humidity and no pollen every day of the year, please. I’ll move back as soon as life lets me. And that love has rolled over to MMOs too.

For example, while Path of Fire has plenty of detractors, the opulent deserts in that Guild Wars 2 expansion are still in my top handful of zones in the game, even considering End of Dragons. Trove’s desert biome has the best mobs and sunsets and lopey cowboy music. And I don’t even hate Tatooine anymore in Star Wars Galaxies – yes, sand and all.
