Patch 5.3, Reflections in Crystal, arrives in Final Fantasy XIV on August 11th after an unusually long delay. But if you need to see a trailer to feel like this is a thing that’s really happening… well, the trailer is here now! And it covers a lot of what you’ll see in the patch, including the Bozjan battlefield, the new dungeon, the second YoRHa raid in the Puppet’s Bunker, and even teases about what will take place in the main story including more starshowers and what appears to be a dark fate befalling the Crystal Exarch… but who knows what all that means?
Well, people who aren’t playing don’t know what all that means, naturally. But now it’ll be easier to find out, because the patch is also making the game’s free trial much more welcoming. Players will now have access to the entire game up to level 60, including Au Ra and the Heavensward MSQ, as part of the game’s free trial. The same trial limitations as before will be there, but this means that you can more easily explore what’s considered the high-water marks of the new expansion as you find out if the game is for you. There’s a lot to look forward to in the next patch, it seems… even if you’re not one of the game’s current players.
The #FFXIV Free Trial is being expanded to include:
☑️ Level cap raised to 60
☑️ Heavensward (through Patch 3.56)
☑️ Dark Knight/Astrologian/Machinist
☑️ Au RaA Realm Reborn/Starter Edition owners are also being upgraded with the above! pic.twitter.com/1nGXFJjPpa
