This past Friday was a pretty big one for fans of Daybreak Games’ staple of MMORPGs, as several members of the various sub-studios under the company’s banner were on hand at San Diego Comic Con for a special panel all about the various titles, which also was the stage for a few big reveals.
First off, DC Universe Online has taken the initial wraps off of its next major episode, titled Harley Quinn vs. Apokolips. This next content update is based on a limited series DC arc where Harley joins the Female Furies in exchange for a brand-new suit and hammer, though it ends up as a generally bad deal for the character. This new episode is scheduled to arrive this fall.
The next major reveal came from Lord of the Rings Online, unveiling the name of its next expansion, Legacy of Morgoth. This expansion promises to continue the story of The Song of Waves and Wind, taking players from the city of Umbar to the deserts of Harad, “a place where the taint of evil still looms large.” This portion of the presentation otherwise focused on Update 41, along with reworks for humans and elves.
Other announcements from Daybreak’s studios include a reaffirmed launch date for Dungeons and Dragons Online’s Magic of Myth Drannor expansion and continued Year of Darkpaw celebrations for EverQuest and EverQuest II, including more in-game giveaways, updates in the Anniversary Tower, and The Outer Brood and Scars of Destruction updates.
