One would expect that an early access MMOARPG like Path of Exile 2 would be getting some updates, which means that yesterday’s video preview of the game’s next patch will likely be of great interest to fans, as it details the series of adjustments and changes due to arrive in patch 0.1.1.

The patch is meant to address the most critical issues with POE 2, so fans shouldn’t expect this patch to be a comprehensive fixer-upper. Still, there are important updates coming, starting with changes to endgame: Endgame maps should now be more rewarding, new tower maps and an update to the existing tower map will be added, and more bosses can be found on these maps. Players can also use a new tablet item that can add bosses at will.

Another big change for endgame players is the addition of character respawns to pinnacle bosses, with the Arbiter boss offering up to six respawns at entry level difficulty and fewer respawns at successive higher difficulty levels. Future pinnacle fights will also have respawns later, and new beacons that show where these fights are on the atlas even through the fog of war will be added to help guide players to these challenging instances.

The three existing leagues will also get some tweaks with the patch: A bug with Delerium that was stopping associated spawns has been fixed, Ritual will see ritual items appear more often, and Expedition has improved item rarity for the league’s shops.

A wide assortment of other updates are coming in the patch as well, such as easier to see visuals for certain AoE markers, buffs to multiple unique items, a bug fix for high-tier items that stops them from accidentally culling powerful mods, adjustments to several monsters, and an item filter for console players. The patch is expected to release sometime later this week, but fans can get a look at what’s to come in the video below or check out a context-filled rundown from fellow blogger Belghast.

In other POE 2 news, game director Jonathan Rogers admitted in an interview that a hacker got access to Grinding Gear Games’ account system, compromising as many as 66 accounts, though more have possibly been affected. The hacker in question managed to sneak their way in by gaining control of an old Steam account linked to an admin and was further able to cover their tracks, making discovering the breach more difficult for the studio. Rogers admits that security measures that should have been installed in the first place are now online and says the team is trying to investigate the wider impact of the breach.
