Hark! What is that over there, on the ocean? ‘Tis nothing. Probably some local fisherman out for a pleasure cruise at night in eel-infested waters.
Or it could just be Deekay_Zero doing what he does best in ArcheAge.
“Here’s a picture to get myself hyped up even more for ArcheAge in a couple weeks,” he said. “We got to the point where we’re doing prep work in game now to get familiar with the game and its systems so that we can go full steam from day one of the new server.”
Minas Tirith might well be one of the most astonishing and detailed cities created for any MMO, nevermind just in Lord of the Rings Online. If players take the time to poke about this multi-tiered capital, they’ll discover many beautiful and strange sights, such as Yrys’ screenshot of the Blue Theater on a rare vacant night.
I think we all got a laugh or two out of the terrific screenshots from last week’s challenge to post pics that got our characters killed. Qarran had no shame in sending in the following glimpse of doom from SWTOR.
“Then there is Dreadtooth, a world boss that roams free. You see, normally I would survive an attack from Dreadtooth because I’m a Shadow Tank and in stealth. But in this case, I didn’t take into account that the reason he is glowing like a nuclear furnace is that he has stacks of an essence called “dread” which makes him at least 10 times more powerful. A wonderful screen shot — and a quick death right after is the result.”
Xephyr sent in a report from the far north in Guild Wars 2, with nothing but glowing things to say about these wintry woods: “I can’t get over how pretty the new map is, especially at night when there’s a snow storm! The forest part is probably my new favorite area of the game.”
There’s nothing wrong with a little spaceship porn now and then, as long as you clear your browser history afterward. Or don’t, because stuff like this is really pretty and should be shared with everyone.
JonBuck submitted this lovely shot of an unusual vessel: “I managed to snag a Tholian ship in Star Trek Online. Looks really snazzy.”
This week’s screenshot challenge is to take us on a visual tour of your favorite MMO city. What places do you like to visit? What sights always make you pause and snap a photo? Let’s see them!
