New Games and Testing
- Soulworker Online: Smilegate is launching the game’s Korean server this week, inviting players to come check out the open beta.
Patches
- Diablo III: Blizzard quietly patched in support for the new PlayStation 4 Pro, with better graphics as a result.
- Sphere 3: A new patch has expanded this game world with The Forgotten Lands and a level increase to 50.
- Black Desert: January 11th’s update began pre-loading Margoria content, distributed a round of attendance rewards, and issued a continuance for the Laventia event.
- Conquer: The Windwalker class has been added to the game! “Windwalker holds mystical handfans as weapon and can switch the combat style between two branches, melee Stomper and ranged Chaser.”
Events
- Defiance: A nuclear winter event is all the rage on this game through January 30th. “Take down irradiated ruffians at any arkfall to collect new loot.”
Odds and Ends
- Grand Theft Auto Online: There’s a new sports car in this game that costs a staggering $1,189,000 of in-game cash to buy. Sure we can’t just carjack it?
- Overwatch: Billionaire CEO Elon Musk is an avid fan of this game and talks it up mightily in a recent interview. In other Overwatch news, Blizzard banned 10,000 cheaters in Korea.
- E-sports: A recent UK summit among e-sports industry members resulted in a pledge to challenge perceptions of this genre in the media and public.
