One Shots: Flash, flash, hundred-yard dash

Rumor is, if you can run fast enough, you can accomplish just about anything. Go back in time? Sure. Quick dry jeans? Definitely. Continually overshoot your target destination so that you end up somewhere in the Pacific Rim instead of Walmart? That’s a certainty.

So we have no idea where Hikari ended up in City of Heroes, only where the journey began: “News of a Kim Possible reboot had me in Homecoming remaking Kim and Ron’s daughter, Ann Stoppable.”

Katriana is being the game archaeologist this week: “Got this shot of some odd… cities? in Guild Wars. From a distance they look like a city on a hill (kind of), but up close it’s clear they’re just big rocks with cityscape wallpaper on them. Very strange.”

Please appreciate the travails that Vincent undergoes to get you these fantastic FFXIV pics: “This shot took awhile to get right. For whatever reason gpose wasn’t cooperating with that set of mobs so I had do it ‘manually’ by hiding the HUD and taking a ridiculous amount of shots until I got the one I liked.”

“I just can’t stay away from SWTOR,” declared RimaHadley to the galaxy at large. “I love Star Wars, and even though it’s not a perfect game, it does capture that particular magic. Also, some of the environments still look really good: Here’s a shot from Tython, the Jedi starting world.”

And if there’s a construction project that needs finishing or a beholder that needs to be put in its place, Hirku Two is there in Dungeons and Dragons Online to apply blunt force trauma: “Bang, bang, Maxwell’s silver hammers came down upon his head.”

Ready… set… go post some more amazing, quirky, or personally interesting screenshots from your MMO adventures down there in the comments! Hurry, for the first 100 posters will have a magical weevil* sent to their home to grant a trio of wishes!

*If we can find the weevils. They’re very wily.

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
