One Shots: Topless edition

We must warn you that this week’s One Shots will be headlined by naked flesh from the waist on up. If you are reading this at work, then we apologize in advance for getting you fired. For married folk, feel free to blame us for causing an argument when your spouse walks by the screen at an inopportune time.

It all can be laid at the feet of reader Becca, who sent us in this lurid photo: “My RIFT guild had a meeting this week — yup, some guilds still do those! We posed on the stairs for a group screenshot, and I zoomed in on my husband (sexy Bahmi on the left), my ever-so-dashing self in the middle, and our friend on my right who… hasn’t quite conquered the appearance tab yet. I have faith the RIFT fashion bug will bite him soon enough — seriously, people have some great looks in this game!”

Massively Overpowered is not responsible for the content of the following photos. Although we totally are. It’s just a reflex to try to weasel out of taking the blame.

“One of the great things about Elder Scrolls Online’s world design is that many areas really feel quite lived in,” Eri said, “like when you find random homes people have obviously made in the myriad of cave networks and ruins.”

What bold new missions are our readers up to in MMOs? Captain Melissaheather is apparently having a blast exploring Star Trek Online’s latest expansion. Hey Melissaheather: the 1960s called and want their miniskirts back!

My call for screenshots featuring eyes in some significant fashion triggered an overwhelming response, from the crazy to the creepy. Reader Dajhryne shared with us this vampire chick’s ocular singularities from The Secret World. Brrr. Transylvania can keep her.

I don’t think I’m alone in trying to pretend that Landmark doesn’t even exist. It’s not because I have anything against the game, per se, but because every time I look at it I think of what EverQuest Next could have been. Pictures like this one aren’t helping one bit!

“My contribution this week is the amazing resurrection spell in Landmark,” Amorey posted.

Thanks, Amorey. Thanks a lot. Going to have myself a good cry now.

MMOs and RPGs can’t seem to let go of the idea of classic elements: water, earth, fire, ice, and wind. So instead of fighting, why not embrace them? Our screenshot challenge this week is to feature weapons or spell effects that use one of these five elements. Good luck!

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
