New Games and Testing
- Titan Siege: The open beta for Titan Siege has begun for both North American and European players. Check it out and let us know what you think about it!
- Escape from Tarkov: The “approximate” system requirements for this upcoming mercenary shooter have been released. Obviously, those requirements may change by launch.
Patches and Updates
- Villagers and Heroes: This colorful fantasy game pushed out a minor patch this past Wednesday that, among other things, turned off the Christmas event and fixed several bugs.
- Wurm Online: Speaking of minor patches, an update this past week makes some changes to structure decay and allows you to get drunk on rice wine (no, really).
Events and Contests
- World of Warships: Ranked Battles Season 3 is here and will continue through February 16. There are lots of prizes to be won, but we think that the devs were a little desperate to fill out that list by including “bragging rights.” [Thanks to ThatLanteshGuy for the tip!]
Odds and Ends
- Grand Theft Auto Online: The creative community is now pushing for a public marketplace to showcase and sell their designs, and has even come up with a mock-up of how it would work.
- EVE Online: Work is being done on EVE’s interface and should be coming to the game on January 12th.
- Overwatch: Just because this shooter isn’t out yet doesn’t mean you can’t start working on your cosplay outfit for it! Blizzard released an incredibly detailed guide of its characters and outfits for those looking to mimic them perfectly.
- Counter-Strike: Valve perma-banned professional players who were found guilty of match-fixing. Boom goes the dynamite.
- Skyforge: This sci-fi title is still pimping its lore and classes on a regular basis, with a look at the Lanber Catacombs and the Alchemist.
Videos and Music
Age of Wushu Dynasty, a mobile spin-off of the martial arts sandbox, launched this past week on iOS and Android. The game is a stripped-down version of the MMO, with four classes and more of a hack-and-slash combat system. It’s also gotten pretty decent reviews. Check out its launch trailer:
EVE Online has a new theme, “In the Magnificent Realm,” and you can listen to it and download it for free!
