One Shots: The hero of your story

No matter how legendarily humble you are, it’s hard to escape games trying to make you the central hero. When a cutscene literally shines a spotlight on you, maybe it’s time to bow to the inevitability of it all.

In any case, the REAL hero of the story is Josh, so pipe down all you pretenders: “Josh
Been going through Guild Wars 2’s story again because I plan on going through Secrets of the Obscure on my Mechanist.”

Sixuality is wallowing in the gutter of the Star Trek movie series: “In Star Trek Online you can visit many locations seen in classic instalments of the series… and also Nimbus III from Star Trek V.”

Say hi to the catgirl dancing there! Her name is Cheryl!

Hurbster is drinking in the 100% humidity of Elder Scrolls Online’s damper places with this screenshot from Murkmire. And you just KNOW that there’s a secret room behind that waterfall. Well, one of them, at least.

Hirku Two is contemplating the jump to a quest objective in Dungeons and Dragons Online. I think you can make it, but you may want to get a running start. And drink a +50 jump potion. And probably equip a featherfall necklace as insurance. And maybe not try for it after all.

“Sharn! Nice view, but I bet there’s an invisible wall just past this railing. Well, I guess I’m going to die. Yay, I’m not going to die! So how do I get back up there?”

Katriana wraps things up with another Guild Wars 2 pic. I love the “greet” prompt as this giant dragon crashes down on you. That’s not the action verb I’d be choosing, but I suppose it doesn’t hurt to be friendly.

“Got this shot of the final clash between Primordus and Jormag. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to get rid of the NPC names before it was over.”

Fire, ice, and everything in-between: It’s an elemental world out there, and we’re all heart. Let’s see your interesting, quirky, or jaw-dropping MMO pics in the comments!

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
