Betawatch: April 10th, 2015

All the things.

Would you like to talk about Black Desert? Stuff’s happening with the game. You can learn how to hunt whales, white or otherwise, and you can learn about the game’s next class. Or you can read a fandom rant about the issues that have cropped up with the game during its testing phases, although as always you might want to take that rant with a grain of salt or two. It’s a good habit to get into.

Elsewhere in the MMO space, meanwhile:

You want more? Ah, all right, jump on past the break and check out our full list as always.

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed.

PizzaDoh Sweet Jesus that looked awful. That might have flown back in the day, but I think enough people nowadays have two monitors, so they can watch porn on one while playing a good game on the other – which makes Venus Rising serve absolutely no useful purpose.

“There’s an ongoing saga behind who is and is not still working on Greed Monger. With a name like that, who would have expected shady behavior?”
RIGHT?! I always hated that title!

So of course I had to click Venus Rising….

Wow, you can’t put that trailer on your site and say you make “A A A” games when your game looks like it’s from the 90s

dirtyklingon If you’ve had enough talk of it, perhaps you shouldn’t bring it up?

You’re the only person here talking about it, seems like you want to talk about it to me.

I actually think it reflects upon your inner self -possibly horny, sexist, both, none, or a mixture of some-.

Looking at the picture from a personal perspective and I see a weary, ginger haired maiden looking solemnly off into the  sunset (see shadow positions). In the background we have a cult doing some sort of chanting dance in cloaks, but also wearing battle armor; possible to be a war dance preparing for what is to come?.

The picture has no central focus to the main foreground character’s chest region at all.   In fact, compared to most games and their female attire, she could pass as a citizen from Saudi Arabia. That is how well covered up she is.

Tuesday! Tuesday! Tuesday! Tuesday! Tuesday!
Really cannot wait to be able to test out -and find exploits in- the new Stronghold map in HoT.   So hoping the map gets tuned enough that it gets into ranked instead of being side stashed like the Skyhammer and Norn spirit maps are.
