As we begin to put a big bow on 2018 and send it off to wherever years are stored — VH1, we assume — the One Shots community is doing its darndest to share their favorite screenshots from this year.
Let’s kick off things with Ryuen: “My favorite of 2018 is a screen shot of a quest scene in Warframe. This particular quest blew my mind and is a shining example of the quality of DE’s storytelling, so this screenshot is a nice reminder of that moment, also it just looks cool.”
I’ll admit, I have no idea what’s happening here, but I’m going to assume it’s pretty amazing. And dark.
We all love to photo-document those special occasions when we achieve or acquire something notable, and a fancy new weapon is as good a reason as any, especially if it took more natural materials than most worlds could provide.
“I’ve been playing alot of Guild Wars 2 this year,” said Redbook, “and I finally maxed out a crafting discipline. Always loved the ascended weapon’s appearance.”

“I’ve been playing a lot of No Man’s Sky, which is always good for some gorgeous screenshots. I’m really fond of creature shots. I love discovering new creatures like I’m on a safari,” DeadlyAccurate.

Rees Racer shared this favorite from Elder Scrolls Online: “Given proper graphics power, some MMO’s can look quite lovely, indeed. Perhaps there is nothing terribly remarkable about this shot. Maybe I’m too fond of a bit of lens-flare. I suppose I just appreciated the colour and the idea of my Bosmer Nightblade crouching, contemplating a stealth/stun/poison with that magnificent bow… and follow-up with twin daggers.”

Utakata sent us this farewell shot from the late, great WildStar. I’m kind of offended that there’s very little pink anywhere to be found. It’s not easy being green, indeed!
