Last week’s call for screenshots of MMO giants brought out some big responses. Hefty contributions, if you get my drift. And we’ll kick off with Utakata’s adventures in Blade and Soul where this bold warrior met a giant gorilla who can dress himself in armor, apparently.
“The bigger they are…” Utakata said.
…the larger their droppings? Because that thing’s got to have one stinky habitat.
Vincent Clark gave us a contrast between large and diminutive in Final Fantasy XIV, all set to enchanting music:
“This is a giant named Gort in Guild Wars 2,” Daniel explained. “He gets bullied by ettins every hour or so. Sadly, since he is an NPC, he needs help dealing with the cave stealers that are one-fifth his size.”
Won’t somebody please think of the short giants? We should start a GoFundMe for them.
Lucky Jinx immediately went to the most famous giant of World of Warcraft’s newest expansion: “I like the challenges, so I present you Stonehead. Are you a good bud or a bad bud?”
According to the game, I’m always a “bad bud” no matter what I’ve done or proven to this realm. He does like flinging me so.
And to wrap up our plus-sized edition, IronSalamander8 risked life and limb to photograph a Giga-Gargantuar in Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.
It tickles me to no end to think that, according to this picture, there’s an eye doctor who specializes in glasses for eyeballs of this size.
All right, shake off that lethargy and get to postin’ some screenshots in the comments below! If you need a challenge for this week, take a picture of a truly unique beast or race in an MMO and tell us what you appreciate about this design.

Yapbe’chugh vay’ vIta’rup! Or for those not familiar with the original Klingon theatrical version, I ain’t afraid of no ghost!
Not really to the point of the challenge, but I’ve been playing a fair bit of Star Citizen, and it’s a very picturesque game. :)
Dropping out of Quantum in an Aegis Gladius fighter to pick up some better missiles at New Babbage.
Mining an angry asteroid in the Aaron Halo at the fringes of the system
And delivering supplies at an inopportune moment, as the Xenothreat Idris is shooting at the Navy Javelin docked there (the “small” Javelin docked at the station in the lower right is 480m long…) I’m doing my best to practice proper social distancing as I head in to unload. :)
Sorry, nothing unique here… just a Human with a VERY BIG GUN behind her from an urgent quest in Phantasy Star Online 2… IN SPAAAACCCCEEEEEEE!
Two words: Heebie. Jeebies.
Unique beast or race. What about Beast Races!
Sucrose is a cat or dog animal person no one knows what she is really.
Next we have Diona the mean little cat girl bartender.
Last but not least Ganyu. She is a demon but Qiqi the little zombie girl calls her Coco Goat because she gives her Coconuts. So she is kind of a beast race.
Summerset by Starlight
Last screenshot before leaving WoW and WoW Classic, i collected some Coin of Ancestry and bought this teal suit, with me is my companion and my friend Steve.
I may come back for TBC Classic.
Eww! >.<
…does my cat count? o.O
PS: And thanks for posting my screen contribution once agains, Mr. Justin. /bows
I have no idea why the chicken-piloted wooden war-golems in BDO are called “Orcs”, but I always did love the design. Even when I wasn’t high enough level that they were willing to just hang out with me :)
That’s almost as weird as the Goblins in FFXIV that look like dogs. Then again, Kobolds in WoW look like rats…
…it’s the liberal extended version of those races that makes those game interesting, IMO. As in, “I never thought of it that way,” interesting. :)
Exciting times in FFXIV this week! #expansionhype
P.S. thanks for the shout out
That thing on your back could be considered a beast tribe. As in, “It’s a beast!” O.o
