One Shots: Come on and give us a hug!

Normally I’m all about hugs. Hugs make you feel accepted and protected and — on a cold day — allow you to leech heat from another human being like a temperature vampire. But even I will admit that there are some hugs that I don’t want to experience, such as this Guild Wars 2 monstrosity.

“In doing the Shadow Behemoth world boss fight in Queensdale this week I happened to be far enough back, and at the right angle, that I got this nice shot of the Behemoth itself near the start of the fight,” said Katriana. “I think this is the first time I saw the whole thing myself during the fight. Usually I only see one of the shadowy arms.”

Over in World of Warcraft, Utakata is taking in a “Tangerine Dream” and trying very, very hard not to think about getting down from this lofty perch. Maybe running really fast at a downward angle will trick the earth into not applying gravity’s effects until it’s too late for bodily harm.

“This smog-filled Dwarven district looks beautiful at sunset,” said Minimalistway while trying not to hack up lungs that are saturated with fine particles and grit from the poor air quality of this medieval suburb.

You know what’s also good for the environment? Rending reality in twain with magical portals! That surely won’t come back to bite us in any way, shape, or form.

Brazen is making progress in Palia, saying, “Speaking of portals, I gotta figure out how to get to the other side. Managed to get three portals open, one more to go!”

And IronSalamander8 is going to take us out with this shot of a metropolis in Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2. “My zombie Park Ranger and his trusty bunny companion look out over Zombopolis and wishes he could remember where he parked.”

And this week’s list of One Shot Achievement Points:

  • Commenter [5 OSP] — Comment on someone’s submission.
  • Artist [10 OSP] — Post a screenshot and story of your recent MMO adventures.
  • Treasure Chest Ahoy [15 OSP] — Post a screenshot of a treasure chest, vault, or locked box (not a lootbox!) that you found in the game world.
Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
