Good news, Chrono Odyssey fans! Or… well, speculative fans. There’s not a game yet to be a fan of; there’s just a promise that there will be a game at one point. But at least it has a publisher in Kakao, so what does that mean? Very little. Well, it means you can’t stand outside the developer HQ with a sign mocking them for not having a publisher, and there’s a trailer to watch. That’s not nothing; it just ain’t a release date.
Of course, considering that this week saw ArcheAge 2 delayed yet again, Path of Exile 2 delayed as well, and EVE Vanguard trying once more to make anyone care about this franchise in FPS form… like, at least Chrono Odyssey is kind of doing the work, right? You keep on keepin’ on. Just announce a beta test sometime before the darkness creeps in, would you?
Do we have other beta news? Yeah, actually. Tons. This week we are replete with beta news, too much to even mention here. But you can find it in our roundup down below, and you can also find a full list of games in testing below that! Let us know down in the comments if something slipped our notice by hopping test phases or the like.
We consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s often under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed, nor will games that are NFT/blockchain scams; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions. Finally, we’ll mark games “malingering” if they’ve been in a certain tier of development for a long time with no clear path to launch.

Yes, MMO gamers, you too can perform the unpaid quality-control work otherwise known as game testing! Check out Massively Overpowered’s Betawatch every week for a run-down of MMOs that are still on the road to launch, even if they appear to have set up a permanent residence in a shed called early access.
