I don’t say it enough: I am truly impressed by how our readership manage to bring out the beauty in MMORPGs through their screenshots. It takes an eye for detail and a feel for a good shot that elevates certain pictures above the rest.
As an example of this excellence, I present Toy Clown’s headlining shot from Black Desert: “One of the reasons I enjoy the game is because of the ocean content. Here is my character releasing a lantern from her fishing boat.”
Small moon, go up and meet big moon! I think the two of you will be very happy together.
I am just the worst in triggering emotes and swiveling the camera in time to grab a picture before my character is done with whatever gesture he or she is doing. So I’m always a wee bit in awe of players who get good emote pics, like Justin does here from Final Fantasy XIV. Such high spirits!
Last week I asked for pictures of ships and sailing vessels, and we certainly saw a wide variety of those — including this one of zombie craft in Guild Wars 2.
“Together with the Order of Whispers, we onced lured some undead Risen and their ships with a false lighthouse signal, wondering how long would they take to get there with those torn, almost useless sails,” said Miol. “I guess undead aren’t easy to win over for things like efficiency!”
BalsBigBrother took a picture of himself at the Big Kids table in Secret World Legends: “I may have made my character a little too short and I might need a booster seat or something so that I can eat at the new fancy Agartha restaurant.”
There are plenty of us small folk on the Massively OP staff, so we relate, Bals. We really do.
To round things out this week, Jon Sleeper takes us to Risa in Star Trek Online for a little summer fun on a hoverboard. So remind me, with the holodeck and all, why did Star Trek characters need to actually physically go to planets for recreation? I’d be all about creating worlds 1/20th scale and then stepping all over them while roaring like Godzilla.
You need a screenshot challenge and I need more pictures for next week, so let us come together and collaborate! This week, why not share your best bug pictures? Small, oversized, freaky, or cute, let’s devote a little real estate to insects, spiders, and worms of all types!
