While one might get a sense that MMOs are nonstop adventures, with players shuttling to and fro on various important (and not-so-important) tasks, every once in a while there’s that moment where you stop.
Rest.
And gather your thoughts for the mission to come.
Our headlining shot today is from Frank, who does just this in Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward. “Here Axelay enjoys a brief respite from the rigors of duty,” he wrote.
Sure there are dragons in Age of Conan, but considering the source material, I have to believe that these flying lizards are an order of magnitude more terrifying and less dreamy than their fantasy counterparts. In any event, I’ve never seen one in a picture until today.
Dajhryne submitted this picture of players fighting the black dragon world boss in Tarantia, and it truly does look like an epic moment.
“I’m an explorer at heart, so I often have little ‘oh, neat!’ moments,” Camelotcrusade posted. “Singling out a big one in Star Wars: The Old Republic, that’s harder. Let’s go with the first time I walked onto my personal starship. It was quite a job to get there when I had no gear or legacy, so that itself felt like an achievement. It was as much about feeling like I was finally part of Star Wars too. Blasters and droids went a long way already, but walking onto my own ship? S**t just got real all up in here.”
Qarran writes of this colorful shot, “This one was an instant screen cap but not because of the area or the scenic view. While playing Black Desert, my pet suddenly jumped on to my shoulder while I was looking at my toon. It was almost a reflex screenie. Why? Good god man, if you don’t think that is adorable, you aren’t breathing!”
This picture amused me because World of Warcraft is always full of these goofy little sights (if you can see past your epeen and shoulderpads to notice them, that is).
“In my garrison’s herb garden, you can get attacked randomly by podling’s when herb gathering. ‘Here’s Johnny!’ podling style,” JudgeDavid101 submitted.
Screenshot challenge? Ah yes, you need one, don’t you? This week I want you to root through your folders for excellent examples of flora — lush trees, striking plants, and crazy flowers.
