The day had started so promisingly. You had docked in a tropical port full of free-flowing wine, endless parties, numerous souvenir shops, and nary a cloud in sight. You had such a good time, in fact, that a minor siesta was in order. And then you woke to see your cruise ship departing. Guess you better start calling this “home” now.
So why not hang out with Minimalistway in Elder Scrolls Online? “Desert, the sea and palm trees, Stros M’Kai is one of my favorite zones in any MMO, this desert zone is full of life and shady people!”
Sleepy saw this vista in LOTRO and felt inspired to quote the books: “See! The beacons of Gondor are alight, calling for aid. War is kindled. See, there is the fire on Amon Dîn, and flame on Eilenach; and there they go speeding west: Nardol, Erelas, Min-Rimmon, Calenhad, and the Halifirien on the borders of Rohan.”
And speaking of putting things to the torch, Katriana is indulging in some inner pyromaniac tendencies in Guild Wars 2: “Here is the Flame Legion’s answer to Burning Man (and yes, it does regularly get torched apparently).”
But then if steampunk trappings are more your style, you may want to hang out in Dungeons and Dragons Online (and shout out to its 17th anniversary!).
Maybe you’ll bump into Hirku Two? “Just a lazy Sunday tinkering in the garage so my future lives won’t have to drown or go splat.”
And in the spirit of RIFT getting a bit of promotion as of late (as well as an anniversary of its own), I logged on to take a pic of its most iconic frozen lake. Nothing world-ending trapped down in that ice, no sirree!
