My 4-year-old uses my Kindle to watch videos and play games I have selected for him, but one day he went unsupervised for a short time, got out of what he was doing, and bought me an e-book about speed reading.😐

I watched a livestream of people playing CoH last night with a couple thousand viewers. It was my first time watching the game and I have to admit, it looks charming. I’m glad to see it getting some attention and love.

Does CoH allow you to alter body shape at all?

I ask as I noticed in screenshots that they all seem to be generic athletic body with admittedly lots of different costumes but still essentially the same shape.

One of the things I recall I enjoyed about Champions Online is that I could make chunky heroes or beast like heroes by altering the body shape. Is that possible with CoH?

Yes. There are three genders in COH, male, female, and hulk.

Of those three types there are basic sliders for things like leg length, chest, waist, hips, shoulders.

There are also some fine tuning options for face features as well so you can pull off that unibrow or massive chin if you so desire.

Lastly, this is all 2004 tech so be gentle.

I’d play a GoT mmorpg for sure. My wife and I are so frustrated with the show and have noted that the further along the show runners get from Martin’s source material that’s out the worse the show has gotten. :/

Speaking of the 1993 moral panic in the courts, that was the same year that the 9th Circuit court ruled (since overturned) that the process of booting up a computer by a technician and the operating system copying over to RAM constituted copyright infringement. It effectively made third party repair services illegal until an exception was written directly into the US Code.

Hey, if I want to try City of Heroes, where do I go? I saw some articles on a bunch of new servers, is there one that’s pretty much the de-facto server?

NOTE: THIS IS A PUBLIC ROGUE SERVER AND NOT RECOMMENDED DUE TO QUESTIONABLE LEGALITY, END DISCLAIMER THAT MOP LIKES TO PUT UP

Try out the Homecoming server over at http://score.savecoh.com — they’re the biggest right now. If you register for a forum account (forums-only login/pw), after that, first make your Game Account (game login/pw) by clicking that link near the top of the forums, then there’s a “getting started” link that will, well, get you started.

It’s an amazing game with a mostly great community, so definitely give it a whirl. The servers are being migrated today from Amsterdam to Canada (4 of them) and Germany (1 of them) between 1-7pm Pacific daylight time, though hopefully the downtime will be shorter.
