The MOP Up: Prosperous Universe’s economy gets a boost with local markets

The economy obviously is a major component of the upcoming Prosperous Universe — it’s kind of hinted at right there in the name, after all — and the team wanted to make sure that players have options to buy and sell other than on a centralized exchange.

Enter the local market, a new way to trade and establish contacts on a smaller scale: “Local Markets can be created on any planet by its inhabitants, allowing you to exchange goods anywhere in the galaxy. As a sort of bulletin board, they are a fast and efficient way to trade, but they also rely on mutual trust.”

So they are a localized AH where there’s no real enforcement for the goods.

This is not the economy I am looking for! Goodbye space-trucker types. Goodbye people behaving nicely (assuming the ability to roll alts or name-change) with regard to trade deals. *I can totally see people having alts just to grab up local market orders and never fulfill them, because people are asses like that.*

Really enjoying Prosperous Universe, been playing for about 4 months. If you’re an economy player, you should give it a try.
