The MMO industry moves along at the speed of information, and sometimes we’re deluged with so much news here at Massively Overpowered that some of it gets backlogged. That’s why there’s The MOP Up: a weekly compilation of smaller MMO stories and videos that you won’t want to miss. Seen any good MMO news? Hit us up through our tips line!
Maybe you’ll discover a new game in this space — or be reminded of an old favorite! This week we have stories and videos from Astroneer, Hearthstone, Overwatch, Closers Online, Dragon’s Dogma Online, Mu Legend, Ragnarok Online, Soulworker Online, OrbusVR, Skyforge, Age of Wushu, SamuTale, and Crossout, all waiting for you after the break!
New Games and Testing
- OrbusVR: The seventh closed alpha test wrapped up and the team had a few stats to share about how it went.
- Soulworker Online: This sci-fi MMO, which isn’t even out yet, has already spawned a mobile spin-off.
- Astroneer: “This update adds a new item, as well as fixes to issues in both single and multiplayer sessions.”
Patches
- Crossout: This vehicular MMO added the Two Turrets map, faction flags, a new brawl mode, and clan brawls, as well as increasing the size of easy raids to six.
Odds and Ends
- Age of Wushu: Get an advance look at the new Ming martial arts school, perhaps coming soon to a server near you!
- Skyforge: If players are new deities, what about the ones that came before? Meet the Elder God — and despair!
- Street Fighter V: Don’t be caught wearing an in-game thong — at least not if you’re being broadcast on ESPN doing some e-sports fighting!
- Dungeons and Dragons: There’s now an official online app to help roleplaying groups coordinate their fun.
- Ragnarok Online: There’s a new progression server out called Re:Start that takes players back to 2003!
- Overwatch: You know that a character has made it when players go to crazy lengths to whip up this level of cosplay.
- Ghost Recon Wildlands: The anticipated multiplayer PvP mode should be hitting this game come fall, with the beta out this summer.
