SWTOR has some fun stories, but the environments and leveling system feel absolutely sterile. Literally you’ll fight the same models of mobs in worlds that feel dead except for said static mobs standing around ready to be engaged your -entire- time.

And that’s a shame. The game, like most modern MMOs, could be good if it had some f*cking SOUL to it instead of just being another bland linear grinder.

All side quests all the time. I want to experience all the content in the devs put in the game.

My biggest disappointment with SWTOR was the devs trivializing all the leveling content with the forced speed leveling curve and level scaling. That was the selling point of the game. It’s just asinine to skip it for the boring grind of the gear treadmill endgame.

Im pretty sure Ubisoft and Riot are loving the attention we are all paying to Kotick and Activision. While we are distracted by this we are not gathering pitchforks and torches for them.

Quarterstaff or Bo staff need more support from MMOs, from all MMOs i played i never seen a class use them as main weapon, it’s usually a stats stick and not a weapon with unique abilities.

Side quests? depend on the game, in FFXIV i ignore them unless they provide a reward i want, a pet for example, in Lotro? of course i’m going to do all the quests in the zone.

Dark Age of Camelot’s Friar class used staffs exclusively, and was a very unique class, but other than that yeah i agree.

Warframe has a plethora of pole arm options. A custom-made spear is my current go-to melee weapon.

*Edit* As I recall, one of the starting weapon options is a staff.

Orthos Prime is one of my “most used” weapons, according to my profile in that game.

Though I understand the economic necessity of having sponsors, I’m not sure how to feel about Giant Inflatable Fish with inexplicable ties to astrophysics influencing MOP…
