Back in the late ’70s, the first Superman flick had the tagline, “You will believe a man can fly.” Well, I look at the following picture from Final Fantasy XIV and I think, “I do not believe a bird can fly.” And yet it does.
“Look at this glorious, pudgy, yellow butterfly, soaring through the skies using only the power of want for cake, and tell me it doesn’t put a smile on your face,” grins reader Wolfyseyes.
There’s even more after the cut! Pictures, not cake. Can you think of something other than your stomach for two minutes?
“So, yeah. The Secret World got mounts today. Can you tell? I’m in Rocketeer helmet,” reader Nnordavind said.
Oh, I totally got my motorcycle. Love it to pieces, although I would prefer a tank with an anima cannon to show those zombies, werewolves, vampires, and filth dragons who’s boss.
Love the angle on this picture. Even an Asura can be an imposing figure if you get it on a stool and crane that camera angle for all its worth!
“Here’s my Mesmer in Guild Wars 2’s WvW,” reader Siphaed said. “I’m standing on a the castle walls, keeping watch like a Valkyrie, ready to smite any who tries to wrongfully take it.”
Let’s head back to Warframe and its techno-bunnies for this next screenshot! Reader Enikuo not only provides the backstory but delivers an interesting game fact as well.
“Here is my tenno on a Corpus ship, looking out the window at other Corpus ships,” Enikuo said. “Fun fact: If you break the glass, all the air gets sucked into the vacuum of space. You have to get out before the life support is gone, and for an extra bit of immersion, sounds are all muffled.”
So who won this week’s It Came from the Comments Section! pick? I’m going to go with ShagrathVtc’s potrait of a Cimmerian soldier in Age of Conan, if just because I miss seeing older games in this column.
Normally this is where I’d put a screenshot challenge, but instead I’m going to place a plea for help. My inbox is almost empty of screenshot submissions from you excellent folk. I suspect that more of you are just throwing pictures into the comments than emailing to me. So this week, why not wow me with a deluge of pictures and stories to fill the queue back up? Thanks!
