One Shots: Farming at dawn

You people and your Black Desert fetish! Yes, the game is drop-dead gorgeous. Yes, it’s the new hotness. Yes, you like sending in screenshots of every little activity, including nosehair maintenance and agrarian life. I’d pretend to be annoyed… but I like me some pretty pictures just like everyone else.

“This is a screenshot I made five minutes ago,” sent in Pid. “You must know I always run to train stamina, which is very important for rangers like me. I never use mounts. So after a long day of running errands I had to sit down on this treestump next to my garden plot, waiting for my grain to grow. After some minutes the sun was setting and I took this lovely picture. Have a nice day and remember: You’re the best MMO site on the internet!”

We will remember that, Pid! Now just tell everyone else that, and we’ll be on top of the world!

There’s always fun to be had with finding quirky dialogue text in Final Fantasy XIV, especially when it gets into meta territory.

Reader JC was quick on the print screen button for this one: “My thought when I saw this quest text was, ‘You’re in a Japanese RPG… you’re describing it perfectly!'”

“Here is Pollo, my Monk Ratonga from Everquest II,” said JohnD. “He’s flying into Butcherblock Mountains to start yet more adventuring.”

Doesn’t “pollo” mean “chicken” in Spanish? How does that connect to a rat-person then? Am I thinking about this a little too much?

Remember back before Guild Wars 2’s expansion? Jaxom did, and he submitted this screenshot to remind us all of that murky era.

“Even with all the annoyances that the Mordrem event had, I still was suckered into participating enough to get my a set of shoulders. These are my guardian wearing the veteran players outfit, royal armor.”

There certainly is a lot of details to be gleaned from Krieglich’s screenshot from The Division. I’m digging the warm glow. “The Division tells its story with a lot of snippets you can find, like phone calls, echos, and so on. But I feel the story the most when walking around in my home base.”

Candles and electricity. One of those will last in a post-viral NYC longer than the other.

The theme of this week’s screenshot challenge is: holidays! Whether it be Christmas, Halloween, April Fools Day, Arbor Day, or what have you, scrounge around in your folders and see if you have any memorable pics from an in-game holiday to share.

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
