Massively OP Podcast Episode 264: Don’t feel blue, MapleStory 2

8

On this week’s show, Bree, Chris, Eliot, and Justin join forces to create some sort of ungainly, dorky super-podcaster that wields all of the power of a global chat channel. Discussion ranges from MMO freebies to MapleStory 2’s sign-off to Warhammer Online’s revival.

It’s the Massively OP Podcast, an action-packed hour of news, tales, opinions, and gamer emails! And remember, if you’d like to send in your own letter to the show, use the “Tips” button in the top-right corner of the site to do so.

I swear one of the hosts on this podcast sounds just like Michael Byrne. I used to hear him all the time on Gamebreaker TV.

I’ved named the pandemic “Stupid Apocalypse 2020”. The sheer amount of willful stupid that’s been in the news from the government and some people is just criminal in my opinion in some cases. (sigh)

Anyhow, good podcast as usual. A bunch of chuckle/laugh worthy moments, which I feel is pretty much the norm. The only thing I do wish is that when you all have more than just you and Justin on Bree, that you all had better selective voice adjustments. Eliot is almost always so much louder than the rest of you that he bleeds over and also I find myself having to adjust the volume down and up often.

Down when Eliot speaks and back up when someone else does. He’s not the only case of this, there are others who have been on that this happens with. It’s really a minor quibble honestly but I have become more sensitive to sound as I’ve gotten older unfortunately. One more thing to add to the list of “Oh this is a part of getting old that sucks… too”.

In case Eliot reads this, I don’t want him to take the wrong thing from this, because I am aware that he can be sensitive to criticism real or not and I don’t want to squash his being on because lately when he’s been on he’s been a real hoot and makes me chuckle as much if not more. I just wish his voice volume was more on par with the others.

Gah, I almost didn’t post this because I don’t want to stir things up, just wanted to give feedback about the audio. I know it’s just Justin doing it so it’s not like you all have a bunch of high end equipment in a studio. I’m just hoping that maybe post production can adjust things abit?

Also, I’d love to hear more group Massively podcasts if you all get that tweaked in, because it’s a fun group of folks and I’d enjoy listening to more. Chris was amusing as well and I’d definitely like to hear more with him on the podcast. He’s got a great speaking voice for it I think.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see it! And Nexon did give them gobs and gobs of warning.

Maplestory 2 did not get enough investment IMO, maybe Nexon thought more investment and marketing won’t change much, i don’t know, it is sad news.

As for Maplestory, it’s a game that so many people grew up playing it, it was the early 2000, many people did not have fast internet lines or gaming computers, Maplestory was easy to play on low-end machines and it’s a cute game with so much grind, even with updates grind still the major way to level a character, you can reach level 200 quickly but reaching level 275 require serious effort.

I watched a streamer who only stream Maplestory, he play 5 to 10 hours every day, i think it took him more than a month to level from 250 to 275.

Still, the game offer so much, it is old game with a lot of content, for me it is fun until i hit the grind wall.
