The MMO industry moves along at the speed of information, and sometimes we’re deluged with so much news here at Massively Overpowered that some of it gets backlogged. That’s why there’s The MOP Up: a weekly compilation of smaller MMO stories and videos that you won’t want to miss. Seen any good MMO news? Hit us up through our tips line!
Maybe you’ll discover a new game in this space — or be reminded of an old favorite! This week we have stories and videos from Hearthstone, DC Universe Online, Elsword, EverQuest II, Wild Terra, Riders of Icarus, Dauntless, Realm Royale, Pokemon Go, Escape from Tarkov, War of Rights, and EVE Online, all waiting for you after the break!
New Games and Testing
- Wild Terra: If you move fast, you can try out this game for free through the 24th!
Events
- Pokemon Go: The Pokemon Go Fest 2018 redeemed itself from last year’s failure with a successful event. In other news, stalkers have learned to use this game as a convenient excuse.
- Riders of Icarus: The game wrapped up the Rabbini event and is throwing some compensation players’ way.
- EverQuest II: When Gnomeland Security is throwing a party, you know it’s going to be great! Tinkerfest is now running through August 2nd.
Patches
- War of Rights: March into Update 115, where the Garibaldi Guards show up to fight and officers are forced to stick with their teams.
- Dauntless: This past week’s small patch helps to lay the groundwork for a much bigger one coming in August.
Odds and Ends
- EVE Online: Hear ye, hear ye! Get your June economic report right here!
- Clicker Heroes 2: What happens when an idle clicker ditches microtransactions? It becomes a Steam best seller, that’s what!
- Valve: Steam’s banned over 90,000 users in one week. You know what you did.
- DC Universe Online: Confused about augments? Then you should probably consult this helpful guide, shouldn’t you!
- Hearthstone: Not everyone is happy with Blizzard’s pricing for its Boomsday Project bundles, but the studio isn’t going to let that stop it from talking about the expansion’s new devices.
